Delayed Obedience Is Not Caution. It Is Erosion.
There is a cost to waiting that nobody calculates.
We talk about the cost of moving too fast. Of acting before you are ready. Of stepping out before the timing is right.
Nobody talks about the cost of staying still too long.
Delayed obedience erodes the signal. Not because God withdraws the instruction. Because you teach yourself that waiting is the safe option. And once waiting feels safe, moving feels dangerous. And that shift in your nervous system is what keeps you stuck long after the original fear is gone.
Obedience is not about readiness. It is about response.
The disciples did not feel ready to feed five thousand people with five loaves and two fish. They felt inadequate and under-resourced and probably a little embarrassed when Jesus told them to do it. But they moved. And the multiplication happened in the movement, not in the preparation.
You do not get the full picture before you start. You get it as you go.
Here is this week's practice: choose one step. Not the whole plan. Not the full vision. One step that you have been sitting on because you did not feel ready. Move on it within 24 hours. Then report back to God and ask what is next.
That is how obedience builds momentum.
Comment AGAIN and I will send you a tool to help you identify your next step and take it.
